How much fat can be removed?
The amount of fat that can be removed during a liposuction procedure completely depends on the patient. Removal of too much fat through liposuction in a single session can result in unsightly ‘bumps’ in the skin, so our surgeons will always offer practical advice to ensure the best results.
Does liposuction cause scarring?
Liposuction scars are small and hardly noticeable, especially as they fade in a matter of weeks. Some patients scar more easily than others and while some may find that incision marks completely disappear within a few weeks, others may see traces for up to one year.
Is liposuction painful?
Understandably, bruising and aching can remain for several weeks after the procedure, but the vast majority of patients find the discomfort more than bearable with the aid of pain relief medication. This is often in the form of over-the-counter tablets but some patients may require a light dose of prescription pain relief.
When will I be able to go back to work?
Following surgical liposuction, many people are back on their feet as soon as the effects of the anaesthetic have passed. However, depending on the area of the body concerned, some people experience more limited mobility than others.
